It's like a week away !!

So, Susan is off to Vegas with our daughter Leah for her 21st B-Day celebration. Other daughter, Lauren decided to stay home to study for her LSAT's, what a trooper she is. I'm holdin' the fort down and counting the last days before our twisted adventure. Talked with Greg A., our video adviser, last night and he's impressed at the progress we've made with our cinematic skills. He passed along more pointers and encouragement. Hopes are that we'll have a fun "home movie" from this trip. We've been passing out our "blog" business cards and finding that lots of people are interested in this silliness. Sometimes I think we're nuts but Susan continues to get more and more excited. I told her that I think I'd be more excited if I knew where we were going. Guess I'll find out soon enough. Well anyway.............enough for tonight, much more later as we keep getting close.

10 days & counting - This is for you Hal

Got our new "Our Twisted Travels" business cards - better to spread the word. Practiced using the video camera the other day, most of what we shot will never be seen by the public (minds out of the gutter people - like us singing "I Got You Babe") ... Our technical advisor, Greg, isn't yet aware, but we will be picking his brain for further filming tips. We'll be meeting him for dinner at the NEW eatery in town - Woody's New Orleans West (where 3 Sisters used to be). The menu looks great & we're looking forward to checking it out. Be sure to stop by for some of Woody's cookin' & be sure to tell him we sent you! We're still in need of bartering materials (lightweight & packable) so if you have a logo'd tee or hat or other small item you want to share, let us know.

21 days & counting/Queen's Inn

Glad to see our followers are growing in number - don't forget to leave us a comment or two!

Spent some time with our inaugural follower (Elisa) and friends at one of our favorite spots & the establishment of our first sponsor - the Queen's Inn (www.queensinn.com). Thanks Deb & Anna! What do we mean by sponsor, you ask? Well, with only $500 to survive on (that includes food, lodging & the works) for 5 days, we figured we could use some help. So ... we're accepting logo'd items to use as barter when we're hungry & thirsty ("trade a pizza & beer for a shirt, mister?"). Make sure to look for pics of these trading moments with sponsor logo prominently displayed. What we're getting at here is, if you want to spread your logo to the far corners of the world, here's your chance. You may be keeping us fed for another day in the process! Let us know - leave a comment, drop us an email, give us a call or send it by carrier pidgeon.

Only three more weeks ...

Happy Mother's Day!

Great dinner with Greg at Oka Friday nite. Tim was never sure of the $500 budget, but after seeing Greg's positive & enthusiastic reaction (very entertaining), he's on board with it. Greg gave us lots of useful pointers for using the video camera to capture our Twisted Travels. Check out his new show called "Motion" at www.livewellhd.com.

It's nice to see more of you following us & we welcome more comments.

To change the subject - Noella, here's the Madden's Diner Mac 'n Cheese recipe (courtesy of Jesse) - Bring to simmer 1/3 - 1/2 cup cream with 2 bay leaves & a bunch of peppercorns, then let cool. Cook 2 cups macaroni, re-heat the cream & add 1/4 lb Kraft Velvetta, 1/4 lb Pepperjack, 1/4 pound gorgonzola stirring til melted. Throw it all together with a little cooked pancetta & s & p to taste. Bake in oven at 350 for about 20 minutes.

Happy Mother's Day to Mom, sisters, friends and all you moms out there.

The Amazing Growing Blog

Okay.....so we already have two official followers (thanks Elisa and Hal), this thing is growing like a weed. We were too busy last night watching the Dodgers set records to practice our cinematography skills but on Friday nite at Oka's we'll be meeting with Greg (a professional movie dude) to get pointers and insider's info on how to document our twisted adventures.

Thirty days and counting 'til liftoff. More later.........

Just Got the Kodak (make that Panasonic)

Noella came through today and remembered the video camera. Craig was a little pissed having to download the content off the camera's hard drive at 2 a.m. and we owe him big time ... again. So now we're just playing with it filming me blogging just so we can get comfortable with the camera being on at any moment. So here's the genius of Twisted Travel. Let's start at the beginning. We were honeymooning in Boston when we came up with the plan. Simple really, take a trip without knowing where you're going. Our first thought was to go to the ticket counter and buy a ticket to wherever, but that proved to be too expensive. So, long story short, we enlisted the help of Tim's sister Deborah. We gave her a budget and asked her to buy us tickets (not telling us where) and meet us at LAX the day of the flight. We will have nothing more than a daypack each, passports, the video camera and $500 cash for the 5 day adventure. Now isn't that twisted?
